Faith-Based Christian Rehabilitation Can Rekindle the Higher Power in You
Spirituality is a key component to successful treatment and long-term recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, and it’s an integral part of 12-step programs, for good reason. Research has shown time and time that believing in a higher power as a universal spirit increases positive outcomes towards sobriety.
The Treatment Center of the Palm Beaches firmly embraces the importance of providing strong, faith-based recovery programs as a supplement to our other core treatment methodologies: medical, psychiatric, recreational and community interaction.
Why Faith-Based Programs Can Increase Recovery Success
Faith-based recovery programs are on the rise. Why? Faith allows patients to put their lives in perspective as part of something much greater than themselves to reimagine hope, belief, vision and reality.
Faith – your faith and how you believe – is your own. The Treatment Center wants to ensure you can explore your faith and enhance it freely, safely and stronger than ever before.
There are often ongoing associations of guilt, blame and shame throughout the recovery process that can place non-productive levels of stress on the patient. Although it is part of the process to allow for ownership of and accountability for one’s behavior during addiction, letting go is more empowering and further supports the emotional building blocks needed to stay on the path to sobriety.
The Treatment Center’s faith-based programs cater to patients of all spiritual beliefs. These programs help foster:
- Reemergence of Hope
- Belief in Oneself
- Trust in Oneself
- Reconnection with Others
- Rediscovered Inner Truth
- Reestablished Life Purpose
Spirituality is often used in the addiction recovery process to develop empathy and compassion for oneself and others. Twelve-step programs focus on accepting and acknowledging a higher power. Although the original teachings of the 12-step programs are founded in Christian thought, the philosophy is beneficial and widely practiced among people of all faiths.
The Treatment Center applies the 12-step process into its options for recovery, but these meetings can be adjusted to fit every faith. For recovery with a focus on Christian-based principles, we invite you to learn about our program, The Road to Freedom.
How Christian-Centered Programs Can Help You
The Road to Freedom, our faith-based recovery program, uses a Christian approach to addiction treatment. As one of the many programs offered at our rehabilitation center, the Road to Freedom is optional and participation is voluntary.
The Road to Freedom utilizes the teachings of Christ and Holy Scripture to bring even more support to our already emotionally-engaging recovery programs. Individual and group sessions are ongoing with in-depth discussions that cover a wide range of topics to inform and guide each patient, one day at a time.
Our faith-based Christian rehab program helps foster:
- Embracing Christ as Your Savior (Higher Power)
If the course of your life has led you astray from God, The Road to Freedom is a great way to find Him. Should you be open to finding an undiscovered spiritual awakening, faith-based recovery is the light that leads you there.
The Road to Freedom program uses a variety of techniques, activities and sessions to help recovering drug and alcohol users become more aware and connect with a higher power through:
- Pastoral Counseling
- Prayer or Christian Meditation
- Bible Study
- Christ-Centered 12-Step Meetings
- Mindfulness Training
- Worship Services
- Spiritual Support and Encouragement
We proudly partner with the American Association of Christian Counselors and work with pastors, bishops, elders and other leadership groups from many different religions and churches.
