The Treatment Center Supports Fern House “Bridging the Gap” Expansion Campaign
As a means of sharing our hope, The Treatment Center has stepped forward as the grand sponsor of the Bridging the Gap Campaign to benefit Fern House.
In April of 2011, The Treatment Center attended the Fern House annual brunch at the Palm Beach Yacht Club. There, our CEO, heard many accounts of the great successes of the Fern House program.
Retired Judge Mary Lupo, who spent many years on the Florida Circuit Court bench, gave a heartfelt call for the Fern House to “think big” as it moves forward in its planning. Judge Lupo, as well as many others who see the problem of addiction firsthand, relies on Fern House as a place of real hope for the hardest, most seemingly hopeless cases.
How the Bridging the Gap Campaign Began
After the brunch, our CEO spoke to Clancy Cebula, the 2011 resident house manager of Fern House, to better understand their needs. Mr. Cebula expressed Fern House’s need for an intensive transitional living facility to extend their current six-month program. With this goal in mind, a team was assembled and their vision became a reality.
One year later, on April 14, 2012 at the annual Yacht Club brunch, Fern House announced the Bridging the Gap campaign. Initially, Bridging the Gap was an 18-month capital campaign to fund the development of a new intensive transitional living facility in Palm Beach County. However, the campaign continues to raise funds today, well after its inception. So far, over $230,000 has been pledged toward the project.
The Treatment Center of the Palm Beaches is proud to be the grand sponsor of the Bridging the Gap Campaign. We have pledged $100,000 and provided contributions of time and manpower to support the campaign throughout the years.
Fern House now operates a renovated facility that provides long-term support for men as they learn to care for themselves in a home-like environment. While at the facility, they master job and life skills and become capable of contributing to society.
