A Palm Beach County woman was arrested for check forgery and grand theft for allegedly stealing more than $25,000 in checks from her mother’s bank account.
Shannon A. Graney, 26, was charged with four counts of forgery and three counts of grand theft. She is being held on $5,000 bond.
Graney admitted to the police that she stole $25,950 worth of checks from her 62-year-old mother. Graney subsequently cashed these checks, but told police she needed the money to “pay her drug dealer” because she “has an addiction to prescription medication.”
